Terms and Conditions

Last updated: 20 May 2026

By using i-grants.com and the services of the i-Grants platform ("the Platform"), you accept these Terms. If you disagree with any clause, please do not use the Platform.

1. Definitions

  • Platform — i-grants.com and related services.
  • User — any natural or legal person registered on the Platform.
  • Client — a User who publishes projects or hires freelancers.
  • Freelancer — a User who offers services and performs work under a contract.
  • Project — a posting describing the work needed.
  • Contract — an engagement between a Client and a Freelancer executed through the Platform.
  • Wallet — a User's internal account on the Platform.
  • Escrow — funds held by the Platform until contract conditions are met.

2. Registration and account

Most features require an account. By registering you confirm you are 18+, your information is accurate, you are responsible for credentials, and one user holds only one account.

3. Subscriptions and plans

  • Search — access to the freelancer database, invitations and hiring.
  • Donors — access to the catalogue of grant-makers and foundations.
  • Premium — both features above.
  • Free — basic access without premium features.

Subscriptions are paid via Stripe, PayPal or from the Wallet balance, in advance (monthly or annually). Subscriptions renew automatically unless cancelled before the renewal date.

4. Wallet and escrow

Users top up the Wallet via Stripe or PayPal. Funds are used for subscriptions, hires, milestone funding, or withdrawal. When a contract is signed, the Client transfers the amount to escrow; funds are released to the Freelancer once the Client confirms acceptance, or after a moderator decision in case of a dispute.

5. Platform fees

The Platform charges payment-processing fees, a service fee on payouts to Freelancers, and currency-conversion margins where applicable. All fees are displayed before you click "Pay".

6. Working through the Platform

Clients post projects, receive proposals, chat with applicants, shortlist, hire a Freelancer, and track delivery through milestones. All monetary settlement must go through the Platform. Bypassing the Platform (direct payment to avoid fees) constitutes a breach.

7. Donor catalogue

The grant-maker catalogue is available under an active Donors or Premium subscription. Information is provided for reference; the Platform does not guarantee a grant will be awarded.

8. Prohibited activity

Not allowed: illegal/fraudulent/discriminatory content; impersonation; spam, phishing, malware; sham contracts or fake reviews; unauthorised access attempts; bypassing the Platform's financial model.

9. Reviews and moderation

Clients and Freelancers leave reviews after a contract is completed. Administrators may remove abusive or fraudulent reviews. Disagreements are resolved through the moderated disputes system.

10. Intellectual property

All rights to the Platform's code, design, trademarks, and texts belong to i-Grants. Users retain rights to uploaded content but grant the Platform a non-exclusive licence to display it. Work product from contracts belongs to the party set in the contract (by default, the Client, upon full payment).

11. Cancelling subscription and closing account

You may cancel a subscription at any time. The paid period continues until its end date. Account closure is handled by support; wallet balance can be withdrawn before closing.

12. Limitation of liability

The Platform is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted operation or any particular outcome. To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability is limited to the amount you have paid in the previous 12 months.

13. Changes

We may update these Terms. Changes are announced at least 14 days in advance. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
